As our little picture here says, Yeshua follows the Torah, teaches the Torah, and teaches others how to follow the Torah. He said very clearly in the scripture:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matthew 5:17-18)
He then goes on to tell us that we should remain faithful to the law and not break the commandments of God:
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:19)
There is an interesting contradiction in many of the modern teachings about these verses, that "fulfill" somehow means to "abolish," which directly contradicts the savior's own words that he came not to "destroy" or "abolish" the law (Torah), rather he taught his disciples to live the law to a higher level than even the religious leaders of the day:
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:20)
So, then what does it mean to "fulfill" the law? According to old English dictionaries, it means more than just to satisfy the requirements of, here, you read it from the 1768 Edition of the Dictionary of the English Language.
If the Savior had not lived the law completely, He would not have been a "perfect man," and His sacrifice would have truly been in vain. Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, that my Savior was and is perfect that he might show me the way.
Biblical Feasts Bible Study
a Free e-book by Anne Elliott
“The Law of Moses, or the books of Torah, tell us about some special days in God’s calendar, days when He wants to meet with us. You can find all of the feasts mentioned in Leviticus 23, but they are also mentioned in hundreds of other places, in both the Old and New Testaments!
In this book, I want to help you study the Bible for yourself, so that you will know exactly what God tells us about these special times. I hope you will discover, as our family did, that each of these special days points us to Yeshua, our Messiah.
We will start each chapter with a Scripture study that you can do alone, with your family, or with a study group. After each Scripture study, we’ll provide you with more resources to help you get ideas and learn about various traditions.”
119 Ministries' Torah Training Center
A team of folks make teaching videos in several languages at 119 Ministries. They have lengthy teachings on explaining why Christians should keep Torah.
“Our purpose is to seek and bring the truth to all nations, unlearn false doctrines and traditions of men, and to equip the body to live and practice the Word as God originally intended.
We find that continuously examining the Scriptures (in the same Hebraic first century context and perspective in which they were written and understood) reveals to His people much more understanding, as opposed to the more common Greek mindset that is a couple thousand years removed.”
Restored Church of God
A mostly Torah Observant group of Christians that follow the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong, founder of the Worldwide Church of God. They attempt to keep the Biblical Feasts and Eat Kosher, as well as keep the true Sabath day, the 7th day of the week. They have many other resources that help the seeker to understand basic theological concepts such as the origin of the Trinitarian belief and the real truth that God is not a "3 in 1" pagan deity.
Read their materials and learn things that the average Chirstian has very little information about. Learn the importance of taking God at His word, rather than trying to fit His word to your beliefs.
Torah Sisters Magazine
They advertise it as the Magazine "For women who love Yeshua as their Savior and keep Torah." We would argue that it is a good resource for both men and women.
Be sure to check out their blog, their podcast and of course subscribe to their magazine (available in both PDF and print formats). Maybe even consider purchasing their book and taking their "30 Day Sabbath Challenge."
They say that "This step-by-step guide will show you how to keep the Sabbath the Bible’s way so you have time for God and family. It’s also the perfect book to buy for your friends to show them how easy and good it is to keep the Sabbath."
